Abstract: This panel provided an update on key federal identity, credential and access management initiatives and discuss how we can leverage identity and Access Management architecture and solutions to facilitate and streamline access to Electronic Government systems while enhancing security. The panel also discussed how interoperable identity credentials improve disaster response and information sharing between federal and state governments.
This presentation was given was at the 2009 Federal IT Summit by Paul Grant, Special Assistant for Federal Identity Management and External Partnering, Department of Defense, Vance Hitch, Chief Information Officer, Department of Justice and Owen Unangst, Director of Innovation and Operational Architecture, Department of Agriculture. The slides were presented on October 28, 2009 at the Department of Commerce at a breakout session to more than 40 federal IT workers. The event was co-sponsored by the Office of Management and Budget's Office of E-Government and the Privacy Committee of the Federal CIO Council.
