On September 14th, I was proud to be included in a graduation ceremony at NRC honoring 64 employees in pursuit of higher learning. During the event we recognized and awarded certificates to three groups of employees who completed agency sponsored training this past year. Twenty-eight employees received a Master’s Certificate in Project Management and 16 received a Professional Certificate in Business Analysis from the ESI International and George Washington University and 20 received a Certificate of Accomplishment in Enterprise Architecture from the Graduate School.

Why are these disciplines so important to the NRC? Simple, these programs lay the foundation for developing critical skill sets to ensure successful implementation and management of information technology across the agency.

The IT Project Manager program provides a wealth of knowledge and skills necessary for cost-effective management of our $155 million IT investment portfolio. The Business Analysis program supports our business requirements identification and determination of solutions to business problems. The Enterprise Architecture program provides skills to enhance and standardize business processes and facilitate data sharing government-wide.

NRC is committed to higher learning to ensure individual career development and overall organizational success. I was proud to honor these individuals and appreciate their time, perseverance, and dedication.
