IT Reform: ITWCA Survey Analysis Training Begins March 22
Thanks to all who participated in the 2011 IT Workforce Capability Assessment (ITWCA) survey. In the next phase of the project, training will be provided to agency human capital planners on March 22, 24, and 31 to extract and analyze the data collected. Planners will be able to analyze data from their own agencies, as well as review the government-wide summary report produced by the IT Workforce Committee’s assessment team.
Over 17,000 Federal civilian IT workers from 64 agencies took the survey, which ran from January 18 to March 4, 2011. The survey gathered information on approximately 200 separate items, including items specific to cybersecurity and IT program management in support of the 25-Point Implementation Plan To Reform Federal IT Management.
Agencies will be able to use the data from the survey to:
- Identify the available supply of IT expertise across their agency workforce,
- Determine where resources should be focused to improve or sustain IT competencies and skills, and;
- Assess progress in closing competency and skill gaps.
