Matthew Perry was appointed as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) on February 21, 2010. He is responsible for the information technology and innovative solutions that support OPM’s mission to recruit, retain, and honor a world-class workforce.
Prior to becoming the CIO, he was the Program Director for Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI) and Project Manager, Retirement Systems Modernization. EHRI supports human resources management across the Federal Government at all levels, from front-line employee to senior management.
Mr. Perry was selected as a member of the Senior Executive Service and joined OPM in February 2007. He came from the Department of Defense, Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, where he led business modernization initiatives to improve and transform business practices with the Human Resources Management community.
Mr. Perry served 25 years in the United States Army in a wide range of human resources assignments at all levels. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University.
